Important: Keep out of the reach of children. Use extra care when using any grooming aid with sharp edges Suitable for use on most pets including cats and dogs. Our Ear & Face Care Set is ideal for trimming around your pet's facial features including their eyes, muzzle and ears. The heat-treated, stainless steel scissors have micro-serrated edges that grip the fine hair of your pet's face allowing for easier, more precise trimming. Use the handy plastic comb to comb long hair away from delicate areas before and after trimming - making it easier for you to be safe when trimming around your pet's delicate areas. Take some time to customise your pet to the scissors and ensure you are grooming them at a time when they are content - this could be after a walk or in the evening when they are relaxed. Once your pet is calm around the scissors, begin by trimming the hair around the eyes, working slowly and patiently. Start with the hair between their eyes and then slowly trim the hair around their eyes, finishing with any hair that hangs down over their eyes, trying to keep the length consistent. If the hair is very close to the eye, use the comb to pull the hair away from the eye before trimming it. Always trim pointing the tips of the scissors away from your pet's eyes when using them. When working on your pet's muzzle, trim any long hair that is poking their nose or hanging down over it. But do not trim your pet's whiskers - these are a sixth sense to feel things close to their face. Then work around the mouth and jawline to cut any long hairs, moving towards the chin on both sides. If your dog has a beard, like many Terrier breeds, you can cut it all the same length or trim it into any style you like. As you learn how to trim your pet's facial hair, remember to give them a break every few minutes, or even sooner if they seem to be getting impatient. Sitting still can be hard for them, so plenty of breaks and rewards help to make the process much easier for everyone. Our trimming guide has some handy hacks to help you get started. Product Overview Mikki Classic grooming products are made with both you and your pet in mind. Their ergonomic design helps to reduce common strains associated with the repetitive actions required to groom our pets well. Our range of scissors are ideal for pets with medium to long coats. Each scissor type performs a different role in grooming your pet: Coat scissors are used for reducing the length of your pet's coat, shaping their style and giving a straight edge to the cut. Thinning Scissors remove bulk and excess weight from the coat, they are more forgiving and can allow you to trim without harsh lines. Ear & Face Scissors are smaller and have rounded tips, allowing you to safely trim around your pet's head. Keeping your pet's face clean is an important part of your grooming routine - especially for longer-haired pets. Long hair may irritate their eyes or ears, causing discomfort and even infection. Long hair can also quickly become matted with food and debris if not groomed regularly - which is uncomfortable and can also be smelly. Cleaning your dog's face on a regular basis will also allow you to inspect your dog's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth - allowing you to know what is normal. This makes spotting any change or difference much easier and allows you to seek timely medical advice from your vet.
